Fern Hauck, MD, MS, FAAFP
The Board of Directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) has chosen Fern Hauck, MD, as the recipient of the 2024 AAFP Public Health Award. This accolade was established to honor individuals who have made or are making remarkable contributions to the health of the American public.
Dr. Hauck, a professor in the Department of Medicine, earns a place alongside 29 previous award recipients whose commitment to public health contributes to a shared legacy of excellence in family medicine. Her dedication and efforts at providing accessible and approachable care to patient populations who often get overlooked reflect the best qualities of family medicine. Dr. Hauck’s capacity to pinpoint clinical issues and champion reform initiatives at institutional, community, and state levels is truly commendable.
Dr. Hauck will receive the award at the 2024 AAFP Congress of Delegates in Phoenix, Arizona, Sept. 23-24, 2024. We congratulate Dr. Hauck on this prestigious honor!
