John Kim, MD, MS, an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine’s Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care, received a Young Physician-Scientist Award from the American Society for Clinical Investigation Council — one of the oldest and most esteemed nonprofit honor societies of physician-scientists.
Recipients of the award are within 1-5 years of their first faculty appointment and have made notable achievements in their research through first and/or last author publications, extramural grants and career awards, and demonstration of leadership and collaboration within their specialty and greater scientific community.
Dr. Kim’s research includes the recent discovery about how healthy omega-3 fats may slow deadly pulmonary fibrosis, published in the scientific Journal Chest, which was covered by news outlets nationwide.
