Irène Mathieu, MD, an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, wrote an article for The Conversation titled “Literature inspired my medical career: Why the humanities are needed in health care” that attracted major media attention.
In the article she discusses narrative competence in medicine, using the humanities to address health inequity, and fitting in health humanities as part of medical education, among other topics.
