Dr. Jan de Beur’s clinical and research work focuses on rare and metabolic bone diseases, with an emphasis on translating basic scientific discoveries into improved patient care. Her work has advanced the identification and molecular characterization of several disorders of mineral metabolism, including pseudohypoparathyroidism, progressive osseous heteroplasia, and tumor-induced osteomalacia, and has helped reshape diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for X-linked hypophosphatemia, tumor-induced osteomalacia, and osteogenesis imperfecta. She also brings extensive experience leading complex clinical trials and multi-site clinical research programs, including serving as Coordinating Principal Investigator.

Dr. Jan de Beur is a member of several professional and honorific societies, including the Association of Osteobiology. She is a Past President and Fellow of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) and has received the Shirley Hohl and Boy Frame Award from ASBMR.
