She co-leads the <a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imeditation.org\">Insight Meditation Community<\/a> of Charlottesville, a weekly mindfulness group and has taught mindfulness at a men\u2019s and a women\u2019s maximum-security prisons, as well as in a private middle school. Susan has practiced mindfulness for thirty years, has lived in Zen Buddhist and Theravadan monasteries and is a Zen lay priest.<\/p>\n<p>Susan is author of the historical novel <i>The Kosambi Intrigue; A Tale at the Time of the Buddha<\/i> published in 2012 and available on Amazon. Comments about the novel include: \u201cA terrific read!\u201d (Tara Brach), \u201can engrossing adventure,\u201d \u201cdramatic, engaging, brilliantly done\u201d (Stephen Batchelor) and \u201cYou don\u2019t have to know anything about Buddhism to love this book\u201d (Wendy Eisner). She is also author of <i>At the Eleventh Hour<\/i>, about mindfulness and caregiving, and <i>The American Mosaic<\/i>, about workforce diversity.
