After completing her undergraduate degree at UVA and her MD at Medical College of Virginia, she did a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins University.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Tuskey joined the UVA faculty in 2011, and her clinical practice focuses on inflammatory bowel disease. She is medical director of the gastroenterology clinics, as well as the quality liaison for the Division of Gastroenterology. She is co-system leader of the GI medical school curriculum and a member of the committee on residency education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning objectives:<br \/>\n<\/strong>1. Understand the \u201cTreat to Target\u201d management strategy in inflammatory bowel disease, and list the recommended targets for both Crohn\u2019s disease and ulcerative colitis.<br \/>\n2. Recognize the need for personalized therapy, through an understanding of disease activity versus disease severity.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Medicine Grand Rounds is offered every Wednesday throughout the year by the UVA Department of Medicine, in association with UVA\u2019s Office of Continuing Medical Education. CME credit is available; instructions and forms are available at the event.<\/em><\/p>\n<h6><em><small>The University of Virginia School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Virginia School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The University Of Virginia School Of Medicine awards one hour of participation to each non-physician participant who successfully completes this educational activity.
