Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Summer often brings a welcome change of pace, and I hope each of you is finding opportunities to recharge, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy everything this season has to offer.
Even as many of us take time away, our Department continues to move forward in remarkable ways. In this issue, you’ll read about exciting research breakthroughs, national awards and recognitions, and the outstanding work of our faculty, trainees, and staff. We also celebrate an important time of transition in our residency program as we thank our graduating chief residents, welcome a new group of chief residents, and prepare to greet our incoming intern class.
In addition, this issue features two of our divisions, the Division of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, highlighting their continued growth, nationally recognized research, expanding clinical programs, and outstanding contributions to patient care and education.
Thank you for all that you do to advance our missions of patient care, discovery, and education. As always, I encourage you to share your own news, achievements, or feedback for future issues of Medicine Matters. Your contributions help us highlight the accomplishments and experiences within our department, ensuring that everyone’s voice is represented. I hope you enjoy this edition of Medicine Matters, and I wish you a wonderful remainder of the summer.
My Best to You,
Taison D. Bell, MD, MBA
