As we head into the fall, I wanted to reiterate a key and guiding principle in our Department. Namely, we are here to serve and support your career development and well-being. Through this support, I hope we create a tight-knit community of faculty and staff focused on taking care of our community and each other.
As you look through this edition of Medicine Matters, I think you will be amazed and feel proud of our colleagues who are achieving many great things. We have Drs. Abbate, Loughran, Rodriguez-Lozano, Toldo, and Wilson moving their fields forward with new grants. We have Dr. Sun, who has made groundbreaking discoveries that will lead to new therapies and many faculty members with national and international leadership positions.
In addition, this month, we focus on our largest division: General, Geriatric, and Palliative Medicine. Led by Dr. Mo Nadkarni, this group of dedicated faculty is at the core of our care and educational programs. You will meet many faculty in this edition of Medicine Matters and learn about their interests and pursuits. My thanks to this group of faculty and staff for their dedication and all of their efforts. What an amazing group!
With best wishes,
Mitchell H. Rosner, MD, MACR, FRCP
