Happy New Year to all, and I wish you a very happy and healthy New Year. The Department of Medicine is excellent because of its people, which is evident in this issue of Medicine Matters. We celebrate two of our colleagues, Karen Finke and Janet Tillage, both winners of the Leonard Sandridge Award. Their selfless dedication to their patients and colleagues for several decades is at our culture’s core. We are honored to work with them; their stories are inspiring and serve as examples of our values. In addition, as you read about the many accomplishments of the Division of Infectious Diseases, I am sure you will be impressed by the depth and breadth of their impact locally and globally. I am so proud of the culture we have and the amazing people who devote themselves to making the world a better place every day. Thank you all!!
With best wishes,
