This month we celebrate the amazing achievements of our faculty and staff with the annual Department of Medicine Awards. I have the privilege of reading nomination letters that detail the daily dedication and excellence that all of you show for our missions. It is such a privilege to witness this and I feel fortunate to work with all of you. During this process, one other thing has been apparent to me; you have worked incredibly hard over the past year and endured circumstances unlike any that we have experienced in the past. You have approached challenges with grace, a “can-do” attitude, and a focus on ensuring that our patients come first. As we enter the summer, I would encourage all of you to take some time off, relax, and refresh. This is critically important given the past year. In the fall, we will embark on strategic planning with all of the excitement of what the future may bring. Until then, take a breather and reflect on your contributions, and my deepest thanks for all that you do.
