MGR | Karen M. Warburton, MD – Remediation in Medical Education

Dr. Karen Warburton is Associate Professor of Medicine in the UVA Division of Nephrology. She specializes in kidney and pancreas transplantation, including living donor kidney transplant. In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Warburton is director of Graduate Medical Education Professional Development in the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Warburton earned her medical degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and her residency and chief medical residency at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by fellowships in nephrology and kidney and pancreas transplantation. She joined the UPenn faculty in 2006. In 2016, Dr. Warburton returned to UVA as an associate professor in nephrology.

Her research interests relate to remediation in medical education.
