Cheryl Etelvari, who serves as coordinator for the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine’s fellowship program, recently completed requirements for certification by the Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education organization. To win “TAGME” certification, candidates must first pass a qualifying test, followed by a certifying exam designed to “assess knowledge of how a residency or fellowship training program functions” and the “ability to find and access information relative to graduate medical education.”

DOM’s Director of Education Joy Hilton notes that “Cheryl is the second in the Department of Medicine and one of only four in the School of Medicine to have earned this professional designation in the field of graduate medical education.”

Cheryl, who began working at UVA in 2008 and has been part of the Department of Medicine’s education team since 2012, is serving as chair of the School of Medicine’s GME Coordinator Council for the current academic year (2017-18).

Well done, Cheryl!
