Fall is upon us, with 22 new faculty members who have joined our ranks since July 1 (several came a little earlier). It is an amazingly talented group of people who will, I am sure, make important contributions to their divisions and our department.
They come to us from across the U.S.: Rochester, Minnesota; Rochester, New York; Houston, Denver, Boston, New York City, Baltimore, and Gainesville, Florida — one even comes to us from the White House! Two are PhDs (Matt Crawford/ID; Tania Felizardo/Hem-Onc), with research faculty appointments; two are MDs/PhDs with strong or primary commitments to research (Heather Ferris/Endo, Francine Garrett-Bakelman/Hem-Onc).
They bring to us new perspectives, new energy, and new ways of doing things. As a group, they reflect our strong commitment to diversity, to strengthening our research portfolio, and to continued clinical and academic excellence.
Please help welcome them to our department, our University, and our community.
