Dr. Paul Helgerson is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of General, Geriatric, Palliative and Hospital Medicine. He heads the Hospital Medicine section in the division.

Learning objectives:
1. Identify our own performance and next steps in optimizing outcomes.
2. Recognize the physician’s role in quality improvement.
3. Enumerate key steps in the improvement process.
