Maryellen E. Gusic, MD, is a professor of medical education and senior advisor for educational affairs at the UVA School of Medicine.

Learning objectives:

  1. Discuss the importance of assessment in competency-based education
  2. Examine factors that contribute to trust decisions, supervision and autonomy
  3. Outline strategies to overcome challenges associated with workplace assessment of performance

Medicine Grand Rounds is offered every Wednesday throughout the year by the UVA Department of Medicine, in association with UVA’s Office of Continuing Medical Education. CME credit is available; instructions and forms are available at the event.
