Maryellen E. Gusic, MD, is a professor of medical education and senior advisor for educational affairs at the UVA School of Medicine.
Learning objectives:
- Discuss the importance of assessment in competency-based education
- Examine factors that contribute to trust decisions, supervision and autonomy
- Outline strategies to overcome challenges associated with workplace assessment of performance
