Christopher McCartney, MD
Christopher McCartney, MD, an associate professor and director of the division’s clinical fellowship program, begins a one-year term as president-elect of the Association of Program Directors in Endocrinology and Metabolism this May, followed by a two-year term as president of the APDEM.
Dr. McCartney became director of the UVA Endocrinology clinical fellowship training program in 2011 and, according to Endocrinology division chief Zhenqi Liu, “has elevated the program to a new level of excellence.” Liu says: “This appointment is a well-deserved honor for Dr. McCartney and a recognition of his outstanding leadership in and dedication to the training of the next generation of endocrinologists.” Congratulations Dr. McCartney!
