William L. Henrich, MD, MACP, a specialist in kidney diseases, has served as the president of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (now called UT Health San Antonio) since 2009. He received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Oregon Medical School and a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Dr. Henrich is the author of over 300 articles and chapters and the founding editor of the dialysis textbook, “Principles and Practice of Dialysis” (now titled “Henrich’s Principles and Practice of Dialysis”). His research interests include hemodynamic stability during dialysis and the intrarenal renin-angiotensin system.
Learning objectives:
1. Understand the frequency of renal artery stenosis and its presentations.
2. Be familiar with the recent randomized clinical studies of the subject.
3. Understand the indications for medical vs. interventional therapy in the disorder.
