Cardiology Fellows Compete at MACCS

UVA Cardiology fellow Eliany Mejia Lopez, MD, right, was one of the finalists for a Young Investigator Award, and Travis Moss, MD, below, received a “Best Poster” award (one of five so recognized) at this year’s Mid-Atlantic Capital Cardiology Symposium.

Travis Moss was one of the winners of “Best Poster” award at this year’s MACCS meeting.

MACCS is hosted each fall by the American College of Cardiology and its mid-Atlantic state affiliates, and held at the ACC’s “Heart House” headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Cardiology fellowship director Pam Mason, MD, congratulated Eliany and Travis, and noted that UVA’s “Jeopardy” team — composed of Eliany, Vertilio (“Vert”) Corneille-Caamano, and LaVone Smith — while narrowly losing to a team from VCU, “represented UVA well.” Congratulations to all the fellows who presented at and participated in the meeting.
