Please plan to attend the Department of Medicine’s annual Carey-Marshall-Thorner Research & Scholars Day on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. It starts at noon with a Grand Rounds presentation by Dr. Dean Kedes at Jordan Hall Conference Center auditorium, and concludes with awards at 5:30 pm.
Named for three eminent DOM physician-scientists — Robert Carey, John Marshall and Michael Thorner– the annual event provides an occasion to learn about the research our residents and fellows are conducting as a vital part of their educational experience.
Research & Scholars Day also serves as a vehicle for fostering research collaborations and a chance for faculty and trainees from DOM’s ten divisions to learn about their colleagues’ work, and celebrate the breadth and depth of research in the department.
In addition to Grand Rounds, the day includes lunch, oral presentations, a poster session, and an awards ceremony and reception.
All DOM faculty and trainees are invited and encouraged to attend. Advanced registration is helpful to allow appropriate planning for refreshments (but not necessary). You can register at: https://med.virginia.edu/dom/research/research-scholars-day/.
