Javanov Barksdale joined the Department of Medicine education team in February, taking over the education coordinator position for the divisions of endocrinology and rheumatology previously filled by Amanda Fortune.
Javanov has been at UVA for nine years, previously working as a fellowship coordinator and in other roles for the Department of Pathology. She has been married to her husband Chad for five years, and they have two children: Meyah, a senior in high school, and Chazz, a fourth-grader. When she’s not working, Javanov says she enjoys spending time with family and friends — “And buying new purses!”
