Jie Sun, PhD, a Harrison Distinguished Teaching Professor of Medicine in the UVA Beirne B. Carter Center for Immunology Research and the Department of Medicine’s Division of Infectious Diseases and International Health, along with his team, were featured in a Japan TBS News DIG segment spotlighting UVA’s efforts to uncover the causes and treatments of long COVID.
In the interview, Dr. Sun outlined key directions for future long-COVID research and noted that uncertainty and interruptions in federal research support can slow study timelines and delay progress. He emphasized that sustained investment is essential to accelerate therapeutic discovery and ensure long-COVID patients are not left behind.
