I\u2019d like to share a few structural changes to help clarify. These changes are part of the UVA Health Bridge Plan. This plan represents the path that will take us from where we are today to becoming a more contemporary health system.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an exciting time for UVA Children\u2019s as we work together to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improve care for our patients<\/li>\n<li>Create greater consistency in our operations and processes<\/li>\n<li>Position UVA Health for sustained success<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Although these changes may not feel different to those on the front line, there are some structural changes for Children\u2019s Hospital meant to create better alignment. These changes include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Children\u2019s Hospital is now separate from Women\u2019s Services as a service line. (The two service lines will continue to work together.)<\/li>\n<li>The Women\u2019s inpatient unit continues to report up through Debra Owens to Mary Dixon. Debra has a dotted line to Mary and a solid line to Children\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li>The Women\u2019s outpatient clinics now report to their new Director Rachel Nauman, who reports to the interim Chief of Ambulatory, Kimberly Daniels.<\/li>\n<li>Children\u2019s Hospital inpatient areas report up through Debra Owens to Karin Skeen.<\/li>\n<li>Children\u2019s ambulatory clinics report up through their managers to Teresa Green and Karin Skeen.<\/li>\n<li>Karin reports directly to Wendy Horton, CEO.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jim Nataro, and Billy Petersen, and I will work with Wendy Horton and others to define the ultimate structure for UVA Children\u2019s. Our goal is to be inclusive and offer opportunities for everyone\u2019s voice to be heard.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a <a href=\"https:\/\/uvahealth.media\/mcinternet-production\/bridgeplan\/assets\/File\/Our%20New%20Structure%20WEBSITE.pdf\">presentation<\/a> that outlines the structure and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicalcenter.virginia.edu\/bridgeplan\/\">Bridge Plan website<\/a> for more detailed information.
