Anyone in this profession knows that this work can be all-consuming. My wife, Karra, is a Physician Assistant in Adult Oncology here at UVA. She is definitely smarter and probably busier than I am, but despite our very busy schedules, we have been able to make our 3-year old son the top priority in our lives. We have had to work hard to strike that balance but it has really paid off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are you usually doing on the weekend or during time off?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Since we are new to the area, we have been exploring all the wonderful things to do around us meanwhile meeting all kinds of great people. Who knew you could go to a wine tasting and watch a real polo match at the same time?<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Your work will come and go, but your family will be there for you forever, no matter what.\u00a0 Make that your priority and the rest will follow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about you would surprise us?<br \/>\n<\/strong>My first car in 1992, passed down from my Grandmother, was a 1979 Oldsmobile Regency Ninety-Eight, 4-door, baby blue with a white vinyl top. My friends called it the General Lee because it was a tank with a V8 engine that could go faster than any 16-year old should be going.
