{"id":1376,"date":"2014-11-24T17:31:42","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T21:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.med.virginia.edu\/kidsmatter\/?p=1376"},"modified":"2014-11-24T17:31:42","modified_gmt":"2014-11-24T21:31:42","slug":"masons-toy-box-annual-toy-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.med.virginia.edu\/kidsmatter\/masons-toy-box-annual-toy-drive\/","title":{"rendered":"Mason\u2019s Toy Box Annual Toy Drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Pediatrics will be supporting <em>Mason<\/em><em>\u2019<\/em><em>s Toy Box<\/em> this holiday season by hosting a drop location in the <strong>Pediatrics Administrative Suite, 3rd Floor, West Complex, Clinical Departments Wing, Room 3644<\/strong>. <em>Mason<\/em><em>\u2019<\/em><em>s Toy Box<\/em> is an annual toy drive in memory of Mason Clark Thomas who fought stage IV neuroblastoma for six years before losing his battle in June 2011.\u00a0Donated toys are given to hospitalized children who are unable to be at home for the holidays.<\/p>\n<p>We ask that donations be new, unwrapped items \u2013 donations can be for any age; however, our department is encouraging gifts for teens as there has been a short supply in previous years.
