
Victor M. Zaydfudim, MD, MPH
Victor M. Zaydfudim, MD, MPH, an associate professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, has been elected to membership in the Southern Surgical Association — one of the nation’s most prestigious professional fellowships for practicing surgeons and surgical subspecialists.
Founded in 1887, the Southern Surgical Association is an internationally respected organization of more than 800 surgeons, recognized for its integrity and influence. The Association has played a pivotal role in advancing surgical innovation and elevating standards of care across the field.
Dr. Zaydfudim’s clinical focus includes benign and malignant diseases of the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts. His research interests center on public health initiatives that improve healthcare delivery and practice, particularly for patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic disorders.
A graduate of Brown University and Brown Medical School, Dr. Zaydfudim completed general surgery training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he also earned a Master of Public Health degree. He later completed a Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, before joining the University of Virginia.
