Cree Gaskin, MD
Cree Gaskin, MD, professor and interim chair of UVA Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging, has been named a 2026 fellow for the LaCross AI Institute’s Fellowships in AI Research.
This 18-month fellowship supports cross-disciplinary research in the AI field, with an emphasis on progressing topics of ethical AI in business. As part of the fellowship, Dr. Gaskin will contribute to a team titled “Designing Radiology AI for Enhanced Human + AI Performance,” alongside Luca Cian from UVA’s School of Business and Nur Yildirim from UVA’s School of Data Science.
Established in 2025 by UVA’s Darden School of Business, the LaCross AI Institute — formally the LaCross Institute for Ethical Artificial Intelligence in Business — aims to develop knowledgeable leaders in AI who are guided by ethics, values, and the advancement of human well-being.
