
Bon Trinh, PhD
Bon Trinh, PhD, a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Pathology, has been inducted as a full member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society. Sigma Xi is an international and multidisciplinary organization of scientists and engineers committed to advancing research excellence, promoting public engagement in science, and supporting the next generation of researchers. Sigma Xi membership, by invitation only, represents joining a distinguished community of accomplished investigators.
Dr. Trinh is a member of the Molecular Genetics and Epigenetics Program at the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Center for RNA Science and Medicine. He previously held research positions at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
He has extensive research experience in gene regulation during development and cancer, including normal blood development, cancer cell proliferation, drug resistance, tumor angiogenesis, and metastasis. His research models include hematologic, gynecological, and breast malignancies. Dr. Trinh’s current research employs an interdisciplinary approach that spans biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, as well as genome-wide bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and statistical analyses.
