Bobby Chhabra, MD, the Lillian T. Pratt Distinguished Professor and chair of Orthopaedic Surgery, the David A. Harrison Distinguished Educator and the director of the UVA Health Orthopaedic Center, was selected as the vice president of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and has entered the presidential line. He will serve as president of ASSH in 2025-2026. Dr. Chhabra just completed a three-year term as ASSH treasurer and a member of the executive committee.
The ASSH has over 3,800 members from around the globe, including orthopaedic, plastic and general surgeons, and various allied health care professionals. The mission of ASSH is to advance the science and practice of hand and upper extremity surgery through education, research and advocacy on behalf of patients and practitioners.
