On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the School of Medicine Office of the Dean and Office of Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development hosted an event at the Colonnade Club to celebrate 93 newly promoted or tenured School of Medicine faculty. Department chairs and families also attended, and School of Medicine Dean Melina Kibbe, MD, provided welcome remarks.
Congratulations to all of the newly promoted and tenured faculty on their hard work and excellence, which has been recognized by the SOM Promotion and Tenure Committee and the Board of Visitors (BOV). In the 2024-2025, there were 48 promotions to Associate Professor, 31 promotions to Professor, and 14 faculty were awarded tenure. Three additional promotions approved by the Provost for effective date of July 1, 2025 will be added to the list pending approval at the September BOV meeting.
