Facilitated by Dr. Sharon Zumbrunn, Professor of Education, VCU
In this workshop, uncover the stumbling blocks and shenanigans in the way of your writing progress, and learn practical strategies for building your writing habit. Sharon Zumbrunn is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology and the Director of the Motivation in Context Research Lab at Virginia Commonwealth University. She spends much of her time thinking about and studying writing motivation and self-regulation.. Her book, Why Aren’t You Writing?: Research, Real-Talk, Strategies, and Shenanigans, guides students and faculty alike on overcoming the hurdles in the way of making and maintaining writing progress.

The Provost’s Office is sponsoring a structured writing retreat for up to 40 faculty at Morven Farm. Lunch and daily opportunities for reflection and accountability will be provided.

The Provost’s Office and the Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are cosponsoring the participation of up to 20 assistant professors in the Faculty Success Program of the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD). **(Please note that NCFDD restricts participation to tenure track faculty.)
