Albert S. Jun, MD, PhD, receives a keynote speaker certificate from the president of the German Ophthalmology Society.

Albert S. Jun, MD, PhD, the Vernah Scott Moyston Professor and chair of Department of Ophthalmology, presented a keynote address at the 122nd Annual Congress of the German Ophthalmology Society (DOG) on October 10, 2024, in Berlin, Germany. Founded in 1857, the DOG is the world’s oldest ophthalmology society. One of the primary initiatives of the society is to advance scientific research in ophthalmology that translates to innovative clinical applications.

As a renowned expert in the field of corneal transplant surgery, Dr. Jun presented the keynote titled, “What I Have Learned About Fuchs Dystrophy.”  Fuchs Dystrophy is the leading cause of corneal transplant surgery in the U.S. and much of the world. His presentation described major findings from his research over the past 25 years into this important corneal disease.
