\u2022 UVA Study Focuses on ‘Speed Bumps’ Protecting Against Alzheimer’s Disease<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dedicated to the study of Alzheimer\u2019s disease, UVA biology professor George Bloom\u2019s lab has spent the last decade working to expand the scientific community\u2019s still-primitive understanding of the disease\u2019s underlying biology. A recently published study from Bloom\u2019s lab is helping to solve one of the devastating brain disorder\u2019s underlying mysteries, explaining how certain proteins convert previously healthy nerve cells into neurons afflicted with Alzheimer\u2019s.<\/p>\n

The findings have been published in the Journal of Alzheimer\u2019s Disease<\/em>.<\/p>\n
