Stay tuned for more interviews with your colleagues!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: How long have you been at UVA and where were you before you came to UVA?<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>I am starting my third year at UVA as faculty. I did my fellowship in pediatric orthopedic and scoliosis surgery at Rady Children\u2019s Hospital. I completed my residency at the Cleveland Clinic. I went to medical school at VCU after completing my undergraduate studies here at UVA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Is there something that you\u2019ve worked on or accomplished in your career that you\u2019re particularly proud of or glad you were able to experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am happy to experience the time with every patient that I take care of. I am proud to be working toward improving patient\u2019s understanding of their health care and increasing patient involvement in decisions to best fit their needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A veterinarian.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: A favorite spot to grab lunch during the day?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I usually pack my lunch &#8211; sometimes the day can be unpredictable in the operating room or clinic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Do you have any children or fur babies at home that you would like to tell us about?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My wife, Anne, and I have 2 boys, William \u201cWill\u201d and Edward \u201cEddie\u201d. Will is almost 4 and Eddie is 4 months. We also have 2 dogs, Magnolia and Jodie-Belle, and a cat, Archibald Wallace, to complete the menagerie at home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Do you have a favorite local restaurant or hangout spot?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hardywood opened up recently down the street from the hospital, and we will stop in there every so often.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Anything else you&#8217;d like to add?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Really happy to call Charlottesville home now and very much enjoying meeting the wonderful people in our region through work and play.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Meet Keith Bachmann, MD, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the UVA School of Medicine.
