UVA OB/GYN residents at last year’s annual resident retreat
The UVA OB/GYN Residency Program has been ranked the No. 1 OB/GYN residency program in the state of Virginia by the 2025-2026 Doximity Residency Navigator. Doximity provides a transparent look into U.S. medical residency programs, and is powered by peer nominations, ratings and hand-written reviews. Over 30,000 U.S. physicians participated in a survey this year to nominate residency programs that offered the best clinical training across 28 different specialties.
This recognition reflects the dedication of UVA OB/GYN’s exceptional residents, faculty, and staff, and the strong culture of learning and collaboration at UVA Health. “Faculty are supportive and caring, [and we receive an] amazing breadth of clinical and surgical exposure during training,“ stated a recent program graduate.
The program provides excellent clinical training and educational environment that prepares residents for careers in OB/GYN private practice, fellowships, and academic medicine. “Our top ranking is a testament to the hard work, compassion, and excellence our faculty and residents bring to patient care every day,” said Residency Program Director Laura Parsons, MD. “We are honored to train the next generation of leaders in women’s health right here at UVA.”
