Senior Associate Dean for Education Meg Keeley, MD, welcomes the School of Medicine Class of 2029.
The School of Medicine was thrilled to welcome the Class of 2029 first-year medical students on August 6, 2025. The students were greeted by Senior Associate Dean for Education Meg Keeley and Director of Matriculating Class Orientation Mary Kate Worden. With their College Deans, the students learned about resources available in Student Affairs, Student Health and Wellness, the Financial Aid Office, and the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library.
The new students will participate in a Day of Service on Aug. 12, where they will gather with their Colleges and engage in activities at many different community service sites. This event is a highlight of orientation because the students have the opportunity to bond with their peers, while serving their new community.
The Class of 2029 will receive their white coats at the White Coat Ceremony, endowed by the School of Medicine Class of 1965, on Aug. 15, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. The University of Virginia Medical Alumni Association is providing a live stream option.
