American Heart Association – open data policy

AHA now requires grant applicants to non-exempt programs to include a data sharing plan as part of the application process.  Any research data that is needed for independent verification of research results must be made freely and publicly available in an AHA approved repository within 12 months of the end of the funding period (and any no-cost extension).

This July was the third application cycle under the Open Data policy requirement.  AHA has posted sample data plans for use when developing an application.  Additional help can be found in their FAQ document, which will be updated in the future.
