Welcome to the new Dean’s Office Messenger site! We created this site to reduce the volume of group e-mail announcements and to target information to specific audiences. This new communication vehicle features:
- A centralized location for School of Medicine messages. Instead of individual e-mails sent to large numbers of recipients, messages will be posted here (https://news.med.virginia.edu/deansoffice/), available to read at your convenience. Announcements will remain on the site as long as appropriate and can be searched from within the site.
- “Opt-In” Periodic Digests. You will be able to sign up for daily or weekly digests of specific topics. This will reduce the number of e-mail notifications arriving in your inbox.
- Private and internal-only communications will require a login. The titles of these internal-only items will be visible to everyone, but you will have to sign in through Netbadge to read the content.
Right now we are launching this site with a focus on research communications, including funding opportunities and general research announcements. As we add categories to the Deans Office Messenger, we will send e-mails inviting you and your colleagues to sign up for the digest e-mails. Thank you to our research deans for taking the lead in this effort and to Cathy Derecki for building the site.
Sincerely,
Nancy E. Dunlap, MD, PhD, MBA
