Are you interested in starting a podcast? Sound on Grounds is a student-driven group based in the Robertson Media Center, in Clemons Library at the University of Virginia. The group consults, produces, and distributes podcasts for faculty, staff, students, and, in partnership with WTJU, the community in Charlottesville and Virginia at large. The team is comprised of students and librarians to help creators across Grounds develop ideas, record high-quality audio, tell compelling stories, and share their podcasts widely.
They support both new and experienced podcasters through consultations, workshops, live event recordings, and outreach. The team maintains a resource guide of UVA podcasts, coaches classes on podcasting, and distributes student and Grounds community work to global audiences. By building skills and community, Sound on Grounds aims to make podcasting an enduring, library-supported resource that amplifies diverse voices at UVA.
Sound on Grounds can help any aspiring podcaster on grounds with planning, recording, editing, and distributing their work. Please contact soundongrounds@virginia.edu if you would like to set up a consultation appointment to discuss what Sound on Grounds can do for you!
