Husband and wife team, David R. Penberthy, MD, and J. Kim Penberthy, PhD, presented a Continuing Medical Education offering called “The AI Revolution in Healthcare: Impacts on Providers and Patients” to the Albemarle County Medical Society. The presentation focused on the rapid change and developments in AI, the amazing successes and advancements for human health and longevity and their application in healthcare, as well as the impact of such on patients as well as physician wellbeing.
Dr. David Penberthy is associate professor and program director in the Department of Radiation Oncology and helped start the journal AI in Precision Oncology. Dr. J. Kim Penberthy is the Chester F. Carlson Professor of Psychiatry & Neurobehavioral Sciences, associate director of the Clinician Wellness Program, and a member of the Office of Team Wellbeing at UVA School of Medicine and UVA Health.
