Henry Yampolsky, JD, has been appointed as the UVA Health Ombuds, effective January 12, 2026. The Ombuds will be dedicated to UVA Health and follow the charter of the University Ombuds Office, striving to provide an independent, impartial, safe, and confidential resource for current faculty, staff, and students to help foster an environment of respect, honesty, fairness, integrity, and compassion — as well as to bolster a supportive working and learning climate at UVA Health.
Henry is a well-known conflict resolution expert, educator, facilitator, and mediator joining UVA Health from Virginia Tech where he served as the Assistant Director for Education, Outreach, and Conflict Resolution with Virginia Tech’s Office for Civil Rights Compliance and Prevention Education. He will officially start taking meetings with with interested UVA Health team members as of January 20. In addition, he will be scheduling multiple drop-in sessions and attending other scheduled meetings to introduce himself and the Ombuds services available.
