In collaboration with the UVA Miller Center, the School of Medicine is holding a Panel Session on Tuesday, December 3, to discuss the powers and responsibilities of the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), and how these powers and responsibilities may impact the National Institutes of Health.
The session will be held in Pinn Hall Auditorium, 12 – 1 p.m., and is open to everyone. It also will be livestreamed and recorded.
PANELISTS
Vivian Riefberg (Moderator) – Professor of Practice at the UVA Darden School of Business, Vivian Riefberg has extensive experience in health care consulting and strategy.
Guian McKee – White Burkett Miller Professor of Public Affairs at the Miller Center, Guian McKee specializes in health care policy and urban policy.
Margaret Foster Riley – Dorothy Danforth Compton Professor at the Miller Center and a professor of law at UVA, Margaret Riley focuses on health law, bioethics, and the regulation of clinical research.
Stephen Morrison – Senior Vice President at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Stephen Morrison directs its Global Health Policy Center.
