The UVA Surgery team has just completed their 10,000th procedure using daVinci Surgery. This incredible milestone is a testament to the team’s commitment to providing the very best minimally invasive surgery to patients in our community, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and beyond.
Many of the robotic surgeons at UVA Health have been instrumental in the growth and expansion of the daVinci program over the years. Their continued dedication and hard work have made a significant impact on the lives of many patients.
“The benefit to our patients has been remarkable,” says Noah Schenkman, MD, professor of urology, about the minimally invasive approach. “With daVinci surgery, patients experience less blood loss, pain, and scarring … [which] leads to less hospital and overall recovery time.”
