UVA Health has announced the following updates regarding provider data management:
New Credentialing Software Going Live Dec. 5; Content Freeze Dec. 5-15
As part of a multi-year effort to create more efficient, accurate, and transparent provider credentialing and onboarding processes, UVA Health will transition to a new software platform, CredentialStream, effective Dec. 5, 2025. CredentialStream will replace Symplr Provider and will automate credentialing, privileging, and managed care provider enrollment.
CredentialStream will provide:
- A secure, centralized provider data platform that is widely used by many peer institutions.
- A single Credentials Verification Office (CVO) for providers to complete credentialing and privileging for all UVA Health facilities (privileging functionality will go live in winter 2026).
- One “source of truth” for provider data feeding key UVA Health systems, reducing redundancy and improving accuracy (for example, limiting provider locations on uvahealth.com profiles to only locations where providers actively see patients).
To support the transition, from end of day Friday, Dec. 5, through Monday, Dec. 15, profile updates submitted to the CVO or Managed Care will not appear on uvahealth.com until Dec. 15.
If you have questions about CredentialStream, please contact Stephanie Allen, Director, Credentials Verification and Clinical Staff Office.
Requesting Updates to Your uvahealth.com Profile
The process for requesting edits to provider profile and location pages on UVA Health websites remains unchanged: providers and clinics should use the request forms found on KnowledgeLink and the UVA Community Health intranet.
- The Provider Data Management Guide details which UVA Health teams are responsible for implementing updates.
- This division of labor ensures data integrity by tasking the teams that “own” the data with validating and making changes in the systems that feed uvahealth.com.
- Clinical department administrators (or their delegates) are now responsible for managing data fields related to the specific care each clinician provides, including clinical keywords that determine when a provider appears in UVA Health website provider directory search results. If a provider is not appearing in search results as expected, please contact the department administrator to discuss the keywords associated with the provider profile.
