Nominations Open for The Cornerstone Program

Cornerstone program The Cornerstone Program is a professional development opportunity for employees to enhance leadership and management skills. Cohorts are selected annually and have 30-40 participants. Participants span the entire organization, including the Academic Division, UVA Health, UVA Physicians Group, and other entities, and are identified in advance by their executive leadership.

The University is soliciting nominations for the 2026-2027 class of The Cornerstone Program. This year’s theme is “Strengths-based Leadership” and will focus on UVA’s strategic goals to empower participants to make a positive difference at UVA, for themselves, and for those they lead, formally or informally.

Nomination Process:

  • School of Medicine managers may nominate individuals directly using the form on the Cornerstone Program website (disregard the note stating the form is only for Vice Presidents and Deans).
  • Submissions are due May 21.
  • Nominations will be reviewed by the SOM Dean’s Office prior to the the final June 1 submission date stated on website.
