David Weiss, MD, a professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and division chief of the Division of Orthopaedic Trauma, directed a virtual international residents course for the Orthopaedice Truama Association (OTA) on August 15-16, 2024. This year marks the first time the course was offered for orthopaedic residents in Africa and Europe.
The two-day course, led by expert faculty surgeons, covered learning modules on diaphyseal, articular, foot and ankle, infections and complications, geriatrics, and pelvis and acetabulum. Evidence-based lectures, selected videos, and power point presentations from international faculty were released prior to the event to prepare participants for case discussions.
The mission of OTA is to empower the orthopaedic trauma community to provide the highest quality patient care through education, research, and advocacy.
