Congratulations to Heather Perry for being selected to receive the 2014 Werner Risau Early Career Investigator Award in Vascular Biology. Heather is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Mark Okusa’s lab.
Her PhD thesis, in collaboration with Coleen McNamara in Cardiology, was recently published and is entitled “Helix- Loop-Helix Factor Inhibitor of Differentiation 3 Regulates Interleukin-5 Expression and B-1a B-Cell Proliferation.”
Heather’s manuscript was selected as the most outstanding paper published during 2013 in the Vascular Biology section of the Journal from the 625 that were submitted in the competition for Early Career Investigator Awards. She will receive a plaque, a cash award and travel to the ATVB 2014 Annual Conference, being held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, May 1-3, 2014.
